About Mirela Popescu
My name is Mirela Popescu. I’m a self-taught illustrator and lettering artist based in Bucharest, Romania.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved to draw and create with my hands. But, like many of us, I chose a more "practical" path and worked in corporate marketing for several years. Even though it taught me a lot, I always felt like something was missing.
Everything changed after I became a mother. Staying home with my kids gave me the chance to slow down and reconnect with my creative side. I picked up my pencils again, and little by little, I found my way back to art. That’s when I decided to follow my passion and become an illustrator—and I’ve never felt more fulfilled.
Now, I specialize in joyful, warm hand lettering combined with gentle, uplifting illustrations that help businesses bring personality and heart to their branding.
When I’m not drawing, I love taking care of my plants or spending time with my husband and our two wonderful kids.
Creating art fills me with joy, and I hope to share that joy with others through my work.
